In the construction and other industrial industries, employees might be asked to work in confined spaces from time to time. A confined space is defined as "any space that hinders the normal activities of a person who is entering, working in or leaving through it." Before you start working in a confined space, it is important that you categorise the potential hazards so that you can choose the right confined space equipment to keep you safe.

At SafetyLiftinGear we offer a range of high-quality confined space equipment to keep you safe, no matter what confined space hazard you may face. If the confined space hazard you’re facing falls into one of the following categories, we can help keep you safe!

Our Gas Detectors can detect up to four different gases (H2S, CO, O2, LEL) through the push of a single button, alerting you if the atmosphere you are working in becomes potentially hazardous.

If you’ve found your way to this blog, you’re likely wondering “what is material handling?” - material handling involves the movement and handling of storage materials in industrial settings such as warehouses, construction sites and supply chains.

How to optimise material handling

People who work in these types of industries use a variety of different equipment to complete material handling tasks safely and efficiently. Material handling equipment is the best way to sure that you're transporting your loads safely and efficiently.

Material handling equipment can be broken down into four categories:

  • Transport equipment
  • Positioning equipment
  • Control/protection equipment
  • Storage equipment

At SafetyLiftinGear.com we specialise in providing our customers with high-quality, reliable material handling equipment. Whether you need a pallet truck to transport goods around a warehouse or a robust storage cupboard to keep your tools secure, we have a material handling solution to suit you.

Material Lifts & Stackers

what is material handling? material handling lifts and material handling stackers

Our material lifts are amongst our most popular material handling solutions. Choose from a manually operated, semi-electric or fully-powered material lift depending on the nature of the task you need to complete.

Our manual stacker trucks are ideal for moving open boarded pallets in confined spaces because they have small turning circles and are relatively compact. Our semi-electric and fully-automated stackers reduce the amount of physical excursion needed to complete material handling tasks, so they’re perfect for more frequent use.

Pallet trucks are an excellent material handling solution and can be used to transport goods from one location to another with ease. At SafetyLiftinGear we offer both manual and electric pallet trucks to suit a range of preferences and requirements.

Our manual pallet trucks are perfect for moving heavy duty loads because they offer maximum control as you move and manoeuvre. For low-duty applications in warehouses or on lorries choose our electric pallet trucks. You can complete your material handling task quickly and effectively with very little effort.
