So how does the crane pick them up? Auto release hooks are the perfect solution.

As the name suggests, an auto release hook - also known as an automatic lifting hook - automatically clamps on to a load, then automatically releases it once it has reached its destination. This means that there is no need for someone to approach the load and manually attach or release the hook.

Manufactured by Tractel, these automatic lifting hooks operate without any electrical parts. The mechanism works by tension: when the hook undergoes tension, the mechanism locks in place until the tension is released. So, once the load is hooked in, it won't be released until it reaches its destination.

This means loads can be managed by the crane operator alone - no other human intervention is needed. This reduces the risk of injury by removing people from unsafe loading environments, such as those with extreme temperatures or unavoidable hazards.
