What is Rope Access?
Rope access - also known as industrial climbing - is a form of work positioning. As the name suggests, it requires significant rope work, and is particularly suited for those who need to access hard-to-reach areas where scaffolding and aerial work platforms are not an option.
How to become a rope access technician
To become a rope access technician, you should first complete the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association IRATA international course. This is to prove that you’re are qualified and capable of working at height with rope access positioning systems.
Some jobs that include working with rope access systems include the energy sector, where power stations and wind farms require maintenance and repair.
